Founded by Dusty Bolyard and Blayne Walsh, Bumi + Koh is an artist-built studio where hair, body art, fashion, music, and visual art all speak the same language.

 

Every detail reflects a life spent chasing craft over trends and originality over imitation.

Dusty brings more than 22 years behind the chair and over 10 years devoted to the study and practice of body art, including three years as a professional licensed piercer. Blayne's background in fashion design and tattooing rounds out a studio built by artists who have never been interested in doing things the conventional way.

Long before planting roots in Soap Lake, their work carried them through Hollywood and Hawaii, where they contributed to television, film, editorial, wardrobe, celebrity hair and makeup, and creative productions.

 

Along the way they worked with musicians including Macklemore, Sarah McLachlan, Foals, Perfume Genius, Lily Meola, The Sounds, and Go Periscope, alongside names like Lauren Graham, Joe Montana, and Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor.

But success never changed the destination.

Home did.

Six years ago they returned to the area that raised them to build something they wished had always existed—a place where world-class experience could live in a small desert town without losing its soul. Today, Bumi + Koh stands alongside their other creative ventures, Cloudview Kitchen and The Neon Mesa, each built on the same belief: when people gather around authenticity, culture follows.
